Hailey Cowan was born and raised in the small town of Waco, Texas. She attended Midway High School before moving on to Baylor University where she participated in Acro and Tumbling. Not only was Hailey involved in these events, she also was named to the Big 12 Commissioner's honor roll and traveled to Zambia and Kenya with her sports ministry team. In 2014, Hailey graduated Baylor with a bad shoulder injury, but that did not stop her from pursuing her dream. During her tenure she racked up many accomplishments including:

• Competitive gymnast from age 6 to 16 (reached level 9)

• Baylor Acrobatics and Tumbling Inaugural Team Member

• 2 Time All-American Athlete (2012 – 2013) Baylor University

• 4-Time First Team All-Academic Big 12 Athlete - Baylor University

• Multi-time National Event Winner for Tumbling

• 4-Time Commissioner’s Honor Roll Student

• Graduate of Baylor Athletics Leadership Program

• Graduate of Emerging Leadership Program for Baylor Athletics

• Graduate of Veteran Leadership Program for Baylor Athletics

• Graduate of Leadership 360 Program for Baylor Athletics

• Member of Sports Ministry Team - Traveled to Kenya and Zambia (2013-2014)

Praise and Worship Leader for Grace Family Church (since the age of 16)

Her passion for the MMA started in 2006 while watching a fight between Georges St-Pierre and Matt Hughes with her father where she mentioned that she wanted to be the girl version of St-Pierre. With her natural competitive nature from the many years in gymnastics, her fuel to become the top MMA fighter was just starting to flame. Fighting her first fight as an amateur in 2017, Cowan proved to be someone to watch out for after beating out Anel Cantu in the Rite Of Passage 1. Hailey would go on to have an undefeated amateur fighting career, defeating 2 more opponents throughout a 6 month span. After taking a hard loss in round one of her professional career, Hailey came back strong with a round one TKO against Sha Whittington at LFA 52.

Is Hailey Cowan The Next Big Thing?

Although Cowan has only been a professional fighter for 5 months at the time of this article, her track record proves that she is not a fighter to look past. After an undefeated amateur career, Hailey quickly became one of the newest professional fighters to watch.

Although she did suffer a heartbreaking loss in her first pro appearance, a foot injury was keeping her from performing at full potential. The competitive drive fueled Cowan to come back in her second appearance and win by a TKO in the first round. This drive and determination alone proves that Hailey Cowan could be the next big thing in MMA.

What Does "All Hail" Stand For?

While most people who personally know Cowan refer to her as Hailey, many of her fans know her by her nickname “All Hail”. While it is not hard to determine that this is crafty word play on her name, we had to find out where the nickname actually came from.

“‘All Hail’ came from my coach”, explains Cowan, “he’s the BEST nickname giver”. She goes on to explain that she was given the name from day 1 of her training and it stuck. “The team started calling me ‘All Hail’ and then everyone just kind of picked it up”.

What's Next?

When asked about what the future holds for her and where she would like to see herself in the upcoming years, Hailey  explains, “ I want to be the best flyweight in the world and I want to leave an undeniable legacy. I want Jesus to show through me. Especially in the cage because MMA needs light so badly.”

While Cowan ultimately wants to fight in the UFC, she still feels like she needs more cage time before venturing into The Octagon. She touched on this briefly in a phone interview stating, “I wouldn’t go to the UFC yet..I need some more cage time before. But there are a few options.”

Whatever route Hailey takes is one that we are excited to see her excel at. With an impressive record so far, we here at All In Faith are sure that her future is going to be bright and will support her every step of the way.
