2022 World Series Favorites

Tom Brady's Un-Retirement Reading 2022 World Series Favorites 3 minutes Next MLB MVP Candidates

The MLB season has passed the halfway point and there are some clear favorites to win the World Series. While there are a couple of teams sitting at the top, it can still be anyone's championship to win right now. Let’s take a look at the favorites to win it all after more than half of the regular season games have been played.

  1. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers won the World Series in 2020 and still are one of the best teams in the league. They have a clear lead in the National League West over the Padres and Giants. There shouldn’t be any doubt that they can win their division at this point. The Dodgers have found some of the best hitters in the league in uncommon places from their shortstop Trea Turner, who is hitting .310, their second baseman Gavin Lux hitting .302, and their new addition Freddie Freeman who is hitting .321.

  1. New York Yankees

The early season favorites to win the World Series may have been passed up by the Dodgers as the favorites. New York still boasts the best record in the league with two more wins than the Dodgers and have one of the most dangerous batting lineups in the history of baseball. The Yankees and the Dodgers may make for one of the most electrifying World Series we have ever seen. The two teams stand well above any other as the favorites to win it all.

  1. Houston Astros

The team that comes in after the two overwhelming favorites is the Houston Astros. After winning the World Series in 2017, the Astros have been back twice again, including last year when they lost to the Atlanta Braves. They could have another shot at the title again this season. Their big hitter, Yordan Álvarez, has been one of the reasons that the Astros have been able to remain relevant these past few seasons. Him, and the rest of the firepower they have in this lineup is the reason Houston could knock out one or both of the Yankees and Dodgers.

  1. New York Mets

One of the surprise teams this season has been the other team from New York, the Mets. Pete Alonso is enjoying his best season since his rookie year as he is leading the National League in RBIs. Their pitching staff has come along this year as well with one of the best closers in the game, Edwin Díaz, leading the league in games finished and Carlos Carrasco who already has 11 wins in his 13th season in the big leagues. This team is inexperienced but could compete with the big boys this postseason as they have a deep and talented team.
